Gastroenterology At the Gastroenterology Department of Anadolu Medical Center, we provide diagnosis, examination and treatment services for all diseases of the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, gallbladder and biliary tracts, and pancreas. At our department, we provide a comprehensive service with our experienced doctors who are specialized in their respective areas for the treatment of the diseases of the digestive system from the mouth to the anus, and intra-abdominal organs such as the liver, gallbladder, spleen and pancreas that contribute to the digestive process with secretions within that system. Which diagnostic – therapeutic methods do we use at our Gastroenterology Department? Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) System Endoscopies (Esophageal - gastro - duodenoscopy) Lower Gastrointestinal (GI) System Endoscopies (Colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy) Polypectomy, injection sclerotherapy / band ligation / argon plasma coagulation (surgical extraction of polyps, drug injection, banding and burning therapies for hemorrhoids and hemorrhages) ERCP – Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (endoscopic examination and treatment of the biliary and pancreatic duct) Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) / Invasive Procedures accompanied by EUS (taking biopsies of pancreatic tumors, etc.) Dilatation (expansion – with dilators or balloon) and stent (plastic or metal artificial channel) procedures PEG / PEJ / J-PEG (insertion of a feeding tube into the stomach or small intestine through an incision in the abdominal wall) Intragastric balloon applications Endoscopic hemorrhoid treatments (injection sclerotherapy / band ligation) Esophageal and colonic manometry – motility examinations (graphic examination of muscular functions and movements of the esophagus and the large bowel) 24-hour pH meter measurement (examination of the gastric acid reflux into the esophagus and examination of acid level for 24 hours) Capsule Endoscopy (swallowing a capsule containing a camera, and visualizing the interior of the intestines with images taken by the camera)
